    The Footman James Bristol Classic Car Show is the longest-running event of its kind in the UK, having taken place on an impressive 40 occasions. Based at the Royal Bath and West Showground near Shepton Mallet on June 22-23, the family-friendly weekender will play host to a wide variety of classic cars to suit all tastes, gathered from all over the country.

    Silverstone Auctions put a wide range of vehicles under the hammer during its maiden visit to Heythrop Park on May 11. There were two sales on the day at the Oxfordshire venue; the Heythrop Classic Car Sale followed by a special auction of British marques.

    John Pye’s April sale majored on ‘barn finds’ with the disposal of a small private collection and the catalogue for the online sale featured a small but interesting selection ranging from a 1914 Dennis fire engine to a 1972 Mercedes 250.

    Anglia Car Auctions’ second classic car sale of 2019 was another busy, well-attended affair, with over 230 cars going under the hammer along with several motorbikes and bicycles. At the time of writing, 72 per cent of the entries had sold, with several outstanding provisional bids to finalise.

    The Mathewsons sale of March 23, 2019 saw a wide array of vehicles under the hammer, from a pair of Bedford TKs to a Rover P6 Estoura by Crayford and a pair of Ford Escort MKIVs. Attendance was especially strong, owing in no part to the presence of a film crew recording for a new UKTV History classic car series called Bangers and Cash.
