    Brightwells’ latest classic and vintage sale took place at its Leominster base on November 28, with everything from affordable sub-£2500 bargains to a £50,000-plus Ferrari 355 amongst the 140 lots. And with an age spectrum ranging from a c1900 horseless carriage to a 2008 BMW, there was something to suit all preferences.

    Dorset Vintage and Classic Auctions’ autumn sale took place at its excellent Athelhampton House venue near Dorchester on Thursday November 29. Though the sale was populated with hundreds of classics, it did contain plenty of variety, with cars spanning a period of 85 years!

    A total of 137 varied classics spanning nine decades and 37 different marques passed under the hammer at the latest Historics sale on Saturday 24 November. A total of 81 lots sold to return a sale ratio of 60 per cent and a gross figure of over £2 million.

    DT Mathewsons October 27 sale was particularly well-attended, attracting probably its largest audience to date. Passing under the hammer were 187 lots, generating more provisional bits than usual. Around three quarters of these were converted during and since the sale, with the sale rate set for the usual 70-80 per cent.
