Manor Park North’s latest classic car sale took place on July 18 at its Cheshire location, with lots ranging from pre-war vehicles to mid-2000s icons

A 1992 Mercedes-Benz 190E 2.0 broke an auction record at Manor Park North’s sale by selling for £24,150, but there were plenty of other intriguing sales, too.

Traditional Brits enjoyed a good sale, with a 1934 MG PA restored by a father and son selling for £14,662, just beating its lower estimate, and a 1936 three-wheeled Morgan Super Sports MX2 making £24,150, again beating its lower guide. Moving to post-war cars, a pair of Triumphs caught the eye, with a lovely 1957 Triumph TR3A in red beating its £14,000-£16,000 estimate to sell for £18,112 and a 1963 Spitfire 4 believed to have covered less than 17,000 selling mid guide for £8625. In addition, a 1975 TVR 3000M in fantastic condition beat its £20,000-£22,000 to change hands for an impressive £26,650.

Four years the TVR’s junior, a 1979 Ford Cortina Mk4 in rare 2.3 V6 Ghia guise was offered with no reserve and went on to sell for £7015. Air cooled VWs, meanwhile, also proved popular, with a 1956 Beetle imported from California over 35 years ago selling for £11,000, and a 1970 Karmann Ghia, also imported from the US but just four years ago, looking to be a real bargain at £14,375.

More modern classics included a Peugeot 205 Roland Garros Cabriolet that matched its lower guide at £5020, with a 2001 Alfa GTV Cup beating its £9000-£11,000 prediction by selling for £12,075. We were also intrigued by a 2008 Saab 9-3 2.0t Vector Convertible that had covered just 4100 miles from new, which soared past its £8500-£9500 guide to change hands for £10,925.

With other lots including a classic Mini-based barbeque that sold for over £1000 and a 1959 Foden S20 dropside lorry that sold for £8970, there was no doubting the variety on offer.

This 1968 Camaro was a rare RS Convertible that had been extensively restored and came from long-term ownership. Treated to numerous upgrades, it beat its £22,000-£25,000 guide to sell for £27,600
The oldest vehicle in the sale was this 1927 Chevrolet Series AA Capital coupe with its two-seater Fisher bodywork and a 2.8-litre engine. Nicely restored, it had been UK registered since 2016 and sold just above mid-guide for £8280
Extensively renovated 12 years ago, this 1957 Triumph TR3A looked great in Porsche Guards Red with immaculate beige leather trim and featured upgrades including overdrive, rack and pinion steering, electronic ignition and an alternator. It beat its £14,000-£16,000 estimate to make £18,112
With its interior plaque identifying it as number 2 from only 155 right-hand drive examples built, this 2001 Alfa Romeo GTV Cup boasted the 3.0-litre V6 ‘Busso’ engine and had covered 71,000 miles. It was very much a cherished example, and beat its £9000-£11,000 guide to sell for £12,075
Finished in Jaguar Platinum Silver, this 1975 TVR 3000M was described by Manor Park as possibly one of the best examples it had seen. It had only had three owners, and came with lots of history – no doubt a factor in it topping its £20,000-£22,000 guide to make £26,650.
A rare Roland Garros edition finished in metallic green with a contrasting beige hood, this 1990 Peugeot 205 Cabriolet came a substantial history file and was in good order throughout. It remained very original and just beat its lower guide to sell for £5020
A sub-70,000-mile example, this 1988 Porsche 944 had been with the same keeper from 1990 until 2025 and came with a comprehensive history file. As a desirable 16-valve S variant it was bound to be popular, and it went on to sell for £10,638
