    The Mini's 60th anniversary will be commemorated with two dedicated races at the Silverstone Classic event this summer, with a bumper grid of cars competing for the Mini Celebration Trophy presented by Adrian Flux.

    Insurance specialist Footman James has announced a new classic vehicle meet for 2019 called Coffee and Chrome. The meets will be taking place throughout 2019 on selected Sunday mornings, with the first taking place at Chateau Impney in Droitwich – a venue steeped in motoring history and the home of Chateau Impney Hill Climb.

    Porsches right through the ages will be celebrated at the Lancaster Insurance Classic and Supercars Show next year, following the announcement of the legendary Stuttgart marque as the event's key feature. In conjunction with Porsche Centre Bournemouth, the show will feature an historic line up of cars including race, rally and road cars from 1948 to the present day.

    The inaugural Rally Round Africa rally saw the crews at the wheel of a 1929 Chrysler 75 and a 1972 BMW 2002 Touring reign supreme at the Cape Town finish line. Canadians David and Barbara Berks took the former to an overall win in the Vintage category, while Australia’s Steve and Ruth Lambert claimed the Classic category honours in the 2002.

    GOODWOOD FOS RAISES £53K FOR JIM CLARK MUSEUM

    The Jim Clark Trust has announced that an impressive £53,000 was raised by donations at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in July, with funds set to go towards the development and completion of the Jim Clark Museum based in the motorsport legend's hometown of Duns in the Scottish borders.

    The roots of Italian racing car and road car maker Abarth extend right back to the birth of its founder Carlo Abarth, 110 years ago. Best known for its hot Fiats, the company was re-established as a separate entity under Fiat ownership back in 2007, and since then its popularity has continued to soar. To prove the point, an Abarth Day was launched in 2016, and its 2018 equivalent was the biggest yet.

    The International Mini meeting (IMM) in Bristol next August looks set to truly live up to its name, with representatives from a whopping 32 different countries among those who have already bought tickets. The event has also attracted three ‘gold’ sponsors, with British Motor Heritage joining the ranks along with parts specialists Mini Spares and Mini Sport.
