Although it doesn’t take place until Saturday May 18, Historics’ next sale at Mercedes-Benz World already has an impressive 102 entries. As we’ve come to expect from Historics, they’ll be plenty of variety amongst the consignments at the Weybridge venue, with everything from no-reserve lots to prized exotica.

Following last year’s battle against the ‘Beast from the East’, conditions were much friendlier for Historics’ 2019 season opener on March 2. Those who made the trip to Ascot Racecourse could witness a fantastic array of classics to suit all tastes and pockets, with 38 no-reserve lots in amongst the 171 consignments.

A total of 137 varied classics spanning nine decades and 37 different marques passed under the hammer at the latest Historics sale on Saturday 24 November. A total of 81 lots sold to return a sale ratio of 60 per cent and a gross figure of over £2 million.

When Historics first wielded their gavel seven years ago, there were 64 classics for sale within their tent pitched in the old Brooklands circuit paddock beside the remains of the WW2 banked race track. At this, their autumn fixture, 162 classics from ten decades and 45 marques went under three auctioneers’ gavels, 33 of them auctioned without reserve.
