The Discovery, launched in 1989, changed Land Rover's fortunes entirely. Here was a car that sat below the plush Range Rover, but above the utilitarian Defender. It became a huge success, and is now the dominent Land Rover brand. Here's our video test of a fairly early, very ratty example.
