Morris Leslie will host its first classic car sale since February on August 22, with almost 100 lots already consigned at the time of writing, including a humble 7000 mile Ford Fiesta. In amongst the Lotus Cortinas, Jaguars and 1980s hot hatches, we couldn’t help but notice the Mk2 Ford Fiesta L.
The 1117cc Burgundy Red Ford Fiesta Mk2 was supplied new by Evans Halshaw of Mansfield in April 1988 and has still only covered a warranted 7366 miles from new. It’s been owned by the same household since it was just 12 days old, and comes with masses of history including its original Ford service booklet, handbook and dealer directory, along with a selection of 23 expired tax discs dating from May 1988 to May 2011. There are also 21 expired MoT test certificates; the oldest from 1991 shows the mileage was recorded at just 2800 miles, with the latest from 2013 showing 7344 miles. Estimated at £3500-£4500, the Fiesta could prove to be a real bargain for a collector.
The sale is in accordance with Scottish Government Guidelines, with bidding taking place online and the viewing of lots strictly by appointment at the firm’s Errol Airfield base in the lead up to the auction.
