With tickets having already sold out in record time, the buzz surrounding the event has been huge and the sale promises to be an unmissable opportunity for classic car fans. Featuring around 100 remarkable cars, celebrity auctioneers will whip the crowd into a frenzy as they lead proceedings and hammer away lots to excited bidders. There will also be a range of special charity lots on offer, with 100 per cent of the hammer price plus fees donated to charity. What’s more, all those that enter their car into the sale will receive two complimentary tickets to the festival.
Despite the sale being over two months away, a number of fantastic entries have already been confirmed. A beautifully restored 1977 Volkswagen 1303 Karmann Cabriolet, originally imported into the UK from Georgia, USA in 1977 is estimated at between £13,000 and £15,000. Offering the opportunity for a great investment, a 1998 BMW Z3M Roadster is also going under the hammer, estimated at between £12,000 and £15,000.
One of the UK’s most popular and exciting car events, CarFest has attracted more than 265,000 classic car fans in the past three years and is the brainchild of popular DJ, classic car aficionado, and new Top Gear presenter, Chris Evans. Befitting the theme, the family festival takes place at 1979 F1 World Champion Jody Scheckter’s Laverstock Park Farm in Hampshire and this year will see the likes of iconic artists including Billy Ocean and The Boomtown Rats provide the music, with a host of motoring entertainment including a hill climb, a horde of car clubs and a food festival.
Guy Lees-Milne, General Manager, Classic Car Auctions, said: “We are very proud to be associated with CarFest as it promises to once again be one of the most talked about car events of the year, while also raising money for a very worthy cause. This is a great opportunity for classic car owners to sell, with exposure to thousands of potential buyers.”
