However, as is the nature of car clubs, it has taken on a more physical form, with members taking the chance to hold regular meet-ups with others in their local area. Now, for the first time, the Lichfied, Staffordshire-based OA7C is having a stand at the Classic Motor Show at the NEC this November (Friday 14 to Sunday 16).

The Club is already planning how to furnish its stand and has chosen a suitably period ‘Twenties and ‘Thirties theme, with mannequins in the guise of press reporters between the cars to give the appearance of a ‘Thirties motor show, but in black and white, with the gentlemen of the press represented by full-size black and white photographs of the clothing attached to the mannequins.

The OA7C is now appealing to members for any period clothing such as a gent’s overcoat or jacket and suitable headwear such as trilby or a fedora. Since the clothes will be appearing at the NEC as photographs there is no need for a long-term loan.

The Club can be contacted using an e-mail form on their website.
