It’s very seldom you see the Type R variant of the Honda NSX go up for sale these days, let alone two. That makes the news of a pair heading to auction in Japan all the more remarkable, especially given that they’re probably the finest examples of the top-spec model anywhere in the world.
First up is the NA1 NSX-R, which is a ‘90s example with just over 500 miles on the clock. Compared to the regular model, power was up 10bhp while weight was down 120kg. The auction house expects it to sell for between £178,700 and £214,500. Meanwhile, an NA2 facelift car, some 70kg lighter than the base model, is set to fetch even more. This one has covered just over 300 miles, and is estimated at £271,600-£343,000. The sale takes place in Tokyo over the weekend of June 8-9.
