The sun shone over Norman Park in Bromley once more for the return of the ever-popular Peter James Bromley Pageant of Motoring. Over thirty-five years on from the first event, the Bromley Pageant has evolved over the years to encompass all facets of the old car hobby from modified street machines to conserved classics.

Central to the event was the Arena, which offered show-goers the chance to meet with our very own cheap car challenge entrants, observe daring stunts from the well-loved Jez Avery, and learn about the Classic Car Loan Project. Salvage Hunters star Paul Cowland hosted the arena, drawing crowds throughout the day.

For those whose passion extended to mending and collecting, the autojumble had plenty on offer from polish to paint, brochures to belts. This key facet of the show remains popular year on year with exhibitors and traders alike.

Club displays were widespread and varied, ranging from the Historic Commercial Vehicle Society to Mini clubs, with cars on display including a beautiful Scirocco 16v and several Wolseley Hornets/Riley Elves. Also in attendance was internet sensation Hubnut – Ian Seabrook and his band of followers brought such diverse machinery as an Alfa Romeo 164, a Rover 45 V6 and a Leyland Princess. Over the bridge and into the second field, the one-make parking arena was thriving with activity. Rarities on display included a Rover Sterling, a Renault 15 and a Fiat Strada – with more Triumph Stags and MGBs than you could shake a stick at.

Several categories of prize were judged and awarded on behalf of Peter James Insurance by three of the CCB team toward the end of the event, with special mentions including the Stag Owners Club, a four door police spec Cortina Lotus, and a beautiful Morris Eight Series E.
