The UK has lost another of its anticipated summer classic car events, with the news that Hagerty has postponed the 2020 Festival of the Unexceptional until 2021.
The cult show, which celebrates the humble and humdrum cars that were once street furniture, was due to be held on July 25. However, in light of government guidance surrounding Covid-19, the 2020 Festival of the Unexceptional organising team took the decision to guarantee the safety of hundreds of participants, thousands more visitors, valued partners and the team at Hagerty.
Marcus Atkinson, Managing Director of Hagerty UK, said: “It was an agonising decision to cancel this much-loved event, but it is the right thing to do in light of the situation we all find ourselves in. We can assure fans of the event that it will return in 2021 bigger and better than ever. Until then, Hagerty extends best wishes to all clients, partners and car enthusiasts and urges everyone to do all they can to follow government advice and stay home, protect the NHS and save lives”.
Since its inception, in 2014, the Hagerty Festival of the Unexceptional has grown bigger and better, with ever-increasing support from the classic car community. New dates will be announced later this year.
