One of the most famous shopping streets in London’s West End will celebrate its 200th anniversary in style on November 2, as the Regent Street Motor Show takes place. Over 500,000 visitors are expected to attend the event, now well established as the UK’s biggest free-to-view car show.
The show will cover a comprehensive timeline of past, present and future. As ever, the formative early days of motoring will be represented by more than a hundred pre-1905 vehicles taking part in the annual Veteran Car Concours d’Elegance before heading off on the famous Bonhams London to Brighton Veteran Car Run at first light the following morning.
At the other end of the spectrum meanwhile, there will be thought-provoking displays of futuristic vehicles, many propelled by the latest innovative drivetrains. Bridging the gap will be collections of classic and contemporary cars, so there should be something to excite all enthusiasts. Last year included everything from original Fiat 500s to high-end supercars, with plenty in between. For the third year in succession the show is teaming up with sponsor Illinois Route 66, which will be promoting road trips on the iconic 2448-mile Route 66 in America.
