Brand-new specialist insurance scheme launched for VolksWorld readers and Volkswagen enthusiasts in unique partnership

A new specialist insurance scheme has been launched for readers of our sister title, VolksWorld Magazine, marking what is believed to be the first partnership of its kind between a magazine community and an insurer to create a bespoke, branded policy.

Developed in collaboration with Peter James Insurance, the scheme is tailored specifically for Volkswagen enthusiasts and has been shaped by feedback from the magazine’s readership. It aims to reflect how owners actually use their vehicles, from attending shows and road trips to undertaking restorations and custom builds.

VolksWorld has long been a central hub for the air-cooled Volkswagen scene, connecting enthusiasts of models such as Beetles and Campervans. The new initiative recognises that media-driven communities can be just as engaged and active as traditional owners’ clubs, with distinct insurance needs.

Peter James Insurance says the policy is designed to support ownership and participation, rather than restrict it, with a focus on agreed values and an understanding of restoration work.

Dave Youngs, Head of Classic at Peter James Insurance, said the scheme acknowledges that magazine audiences are “just as engaged and active as a traditional club.”

VolksWorld editor Paul Knight added: “We’ve seen the way PJ has worked diligently with owners’ clubs, tailoring insurance products that are relevant and suitable the way enthusiasts own and use their cars, and we’re sure readers of VolksWorld magazine can similarly benefit from this kind of bespoke approach.”

The launch reflects broader changes in the classic vehicle sector, where communities are increasingly forming around media brands as well as clubs.
