The Car Years, a brand-new classic car TV programme fronted by Vicki Butler-Henderson and Alex Riley, is to be shown on ITV4.

The announcement was made on stage at the Practical Classics Classic Car and Restoration Show held at Birmingham’s NEC. Sponsored by insurance specialist Footman James and produced by Wiser Films, the series will see the experienced presenters argue the case for some of their favourite classics.

Each episode will focus on an important year in automotive history, with each presenter selecting a car from that year. Expert judges including The Grand Tour editor Richard Porter, Quentin Willson, former Formula One star Karun Chandhok and auction house managing director Chris Routledge will then decide which car wins.

The series is likely to start at end of April or early May, but for confirmation, follow Footman James on Facebook or sign up to its newsletter by visiting footmanjames.co.uk/newsletter.
