Adverse weather forces last-minute decision to cancel Reis Race Retro for 2024, with planned Iconic Auctioneers sale moved to Silverstone
Fans of the popular motorsport-themed event Reis Race Retro were left reeling tonight with the announcement that the 2024 event is to be cancelled.
Announcing the move just a few days before the event was due to open at the Stoneleigh Park venue, organisers Clarion Events Ltd explained that the move had been forced by the expected adverse weather conditions, especially forecast flooding in the area.
“As a team, we are devasted to be forced to cancel Reis Race Retro 2024,” said Show Director Lee Masters. “While this decision was unavoidable, the safety and well-being of our attendees, participants, staff and local residents remain our top priority. We understand the disappointment this may cause, and we sincerely apologise for any inconvenience.”
Visitors already having purchased tickets will be able to claim either a full refund or roll them over to the 2025 event which is due to be held on February 21-23.
Meanwhile, Iconic Auctioneers has confirmed that its two sales scheduled for the event will go ahead as planned, using a new venue at The Wing in the Silverstone Circuit complex. The Competition Car sale will take place at 2pm on Friday, February 23 and the Collectors’ Car sale from midday on Saturday, February 24. More details can be found at www.iconicauctioneers.com
