After the overwhelming success of William Medcalf Vintage Bentley’s ‘Drive Out’ events in 2017, the West Sussex workshop and showroom is committed to opening its doors to the historic motoring community once again on Sunday 7 January.
William Medcalf, who specialises in restoration and rally preparation of Bentleys from 1922 to 1932, held his first Drive Out event at the start of this year to something of a fanfare. The success of the inaugural event prompted an additional Drive Out day in the middle of the year, where motoring admirers were able to go to Goodwood circuit and enjoy a full demonstration of a World War Two Spitfire plane by a Spitfire pilot.
The West Sussex showroom is home to some of the rarest and most valuable Bentleys ever made. Enthusiasts from across the country are now acquainted to the popular gatherings, where exclusive access to one of the world’s largest assemblies of vintage Bentleys is a paramount experience. The Drive Out days also offer an opportunity to converse and network with fellow devotees surrounded by some of the finest vehicles ever made.
It’s been almost a century since W.O. Bentley fired up his first motorcar, but interest in and love for the brand hasn’t dwindled and William Medcalf’s “Drive Out” events are a chance to go back and sample the very best of British motoring.
Complimentary tours of the workshop facility will get under way from 10:00am on Sunday and refreshments are to be served throughout the morning. It is the perfect opportunity to discuss the cars and to talk about the upcoming activities for the 2018 season. Note, there will be no drive out this time, instead guests will be able to linger at Medcalf HQ to take in the spectacle until the event closes at 13.00.
William Medcalf said: “Last January, we held the first ever Drive Out from William Medcalf Vintage Bentley and the success of the day required us to continue involving enthusiasts and aficionados with the cars we proudly showcase.
“One year on, we are once again sincerely looking forward to welcoming visitors to our workshop, to get a sense of what it takes to keep some of the rarest and most beautiful Bentleys on the road and race circuits today. This is just the start of a great event calendar in 2018”
