One of the stars of Historics’ next auction will be an exceptionally rare and wonderfully-presented 1969 Lamborghini Islero. As one of only 100 S-spec models to be built and just five in right-hand-drive it’s already special enough, but this particular example also boasts big-screen provenance.

Some 50 years ago, this very car was driven by famed actor, Sir Roger Moore, in the 1969 film The Man Who Haunted Himself. The Lamborghini Islero featured extensively and Moore, whose performance immediately preceded his James Bond film role, evidently enjoyed the experience as he signed the sun visor. This remains present, and there’s also a photograph of Moore with the car and a special plaque referring to its authenticity.

The car has only covered 40,000 miles, with Historics expecting significant interest at an estimate of £265,000-£275,000. It joins a host of interesting lots, including a very smart 1975 BMW E9 3.0 CSi that’s had over £100,000 lavished upon it.

The sale will take place at Ascot Racecourse on March 7. Full details of these cars and other entries can be found at www.historics.co.uk.
