A new Modern Classics Run is set to complete a trio of seaside runs when it takes place to for the first time at the end of May. GE Classic Motor Events, which already organises the established London to Brighton Classic Car Run and Kit & Sports Car Run, is expanding its portfolio to cater for vehicles manufactured between February 1979 and December 31, 1999.

All three runs will start at the beautiful Greenwich Park, with participants on the Modern Classics Run will enjoying a midway stop at Penshurst Place in Kent before joining the other vehicles at the finish line on Brighton’s famous Madeira Drive. On arrival entrants will be greeted by the commentator before the awards ceremony, which will announce the various winners as well as the best period dressed participants, longest distance travelled and a few other special awards.

Meanwhile, the Classic Car Run will be celebrating its 32nd year. Open to all cars pre-1979, the Run hosts a fabulous mix of 300 classic and vintage cars. This year’s midway point is the Wings Museum in Sussex, which houses planes and aviation artefacts from the first and second world wars.

The Kit & Sports Car Run is celebrating its 20th year in 2020. With no age limits on entries, this Run also welcomes replica cars as well as kit and sports cars. These will stop for a midway break at Saint Hill Manor, located on the outskirts of East Grinstead.

Stephen Smith from GE Classic Motor Events said: “As the classic car scene has expanded, so have the existing runs. With more owners of cars from the 1980s and ‘90s wanting to join the fun, this seemed the natural progression. Our event is about celebrating vehicles on the road so it’s very much more the merrier!”

The entry fee in all classes of entry is £110 per crew of driver and navigator, with all run participants receiving a commemorative numbered rally board and sold brass rally plaque, a Tulip style route book, and a personalised certificate of entry. Places are allocated on a first come, first served basis with a closing date of April 30. To enter, visit www.classicmotorevents.co.uk
