Applications for the Concours De L’Ordinaire at Hagerty’s 2020 Festival of the Unexceptional (FOTU 2020) have been open from Friday February 14. Originally staged back in 2014 as the first event of its kind in Europe, the event celebrates the ordinary, everyday cars that we all grew-up with but have now all but disappeared.

The 2020 event takes place at Grimsthorpe Castle in Lincolnshire on July 25. Unexceptional vehicle owners can submit their cars for inclusion by heading to www.unexceptionalcars.co.uk.

All cars selected have a real chance of taking outright honours. Previous winners include Edward Rattley’s immaculate Nissan Cherry in 2014, followed by a base-spec Escort Mk2 in 2015, a Marina Pick-up in 2016 and Mark Ashbridge’s Datsun Sunny in 2017. In 2018, Guy Maylam took first place for his Chrysler Alpine, with last year’s honours going to Michael Carpenter’s Marina Estate.
