Jaguar E-Type owners and enthusiasts are being encouraged to save the date ahead of a big E-Type 60th birthday bash for the iconic sports car next summer. The E-Type Club plans to host a celebratory weekend on June 12-13, 2021 at Shelsley Walsh Hill Climb in Worcestershire – the oldest motorsport venue in the world still using its original course.

Once described it as “the most beautiful car in the world” by Enzo Ferrari, the E-Type was launched in March 1961 at the Geneva Motor Show. It enjoyed a 14-year production run and attracted an illustrious roster of owners including George Harrison, Mick Jagger, George Best, Frank Sinatra, Sir Jackie Stewart, Bruce McLaren, Peter Sellers and more. The original Geneva launch car, registered 9600 HP and now owned by club founders Philip and Julie Porter, will feature as part of a ‘Hall of Fame’ during the weekend, heading up an array of amazing E-Types from all around the world.

Fittingly, the theme for the weekend will be ‘Swinging Sixties’, so expect music and fancy dress. For more information about E-Type 60, contact Louise Gibbs via louise@e-typeclub.com or visit www.e-typeclub.com.
