A huge cache of more than 14,000 remanufactured historic Peugeot and Citroën parts is to be made available online by L’Aventure Peugeot Classic – the museum and heritage wing of PSA Group.

Although a back catalogue of spares for certain ’03, ’04 and ’05 Peugeots was maintained by PSA Group, Tuesday, May 1 will its back catalogue swell considerably for both marques. New old spares for classic Vauxhalls and Opels have not yet been confirmed or denied by PSA Group.

News of the new catalogue has been greeted warmly by the classic Peugeot and Citroën community – with many relieved that the burden has been lifted from smaller firms.

“The spares situation for the older cars (i.e. pre and early-05 series) has been very difficult,” confirmed Chris Hughes, Marketing and PR co-ordinator for Peugeot Sport Club UK; a group affiliated with Peugeot UK.

“Peugeot clubs and members have had to talk to dealerships up and down the country to find new old stock that they may or may not have – and most have been cleared out by now. Luckily, enthusiast-run private firms had been taking up the slack, with no loss of quality.”

He concluded: “Now that the Museum is producing parts, finding parts should be a lot easier for owners. 205s and 309s have had a boost, with companies like Desborough Designs and Baker BM manufacturing their own parts (sometimes better quality than the originals); now it’s the turn of owners of older Peugeots and Citroëns to reap the benefit of original equipment (OE) manufacture.”
