The shortlist of finalists for the 2019 National Car Club Awards have been revealed, with more clubs than ever before nominated in 2019.

The Gay Classic Car Group leads the way, shortlisted in four of the Car Club category awards as well as two of the Devoted Member categories. It is included in the running for the coveted National Car Club of the Year accolade, as is the National Street Rod Association (NSRA), which has four Car Club nominations, and BMW Car Club GB, which has three Car Club nominations and two in the Devoted Member categories. The MG Car Club, meanwhile, also has three Car Club nominations and is up for one Devoted Member award.

With the finalists announced in 11 of the award categories, six further trophies will be awarded to clubs exhibiting at the Practical Classics Classic Car & Restoration Show, with Discovery, chosen by the panel of Judges. All the winners, along with the recipient of the Judge’s Special Recognition award, will be revealed at a glittering Awards Dinner on Saturday March 23 , held at Birmingham’s NEC once the show closes for the day.

Founded in 2016, these awards celebrate the UK classic car clubs, which are the heart and soul of the classic motoring community. In 2019, the judging panel includes David Boyce from main sponsor Tourism Ireland and David Whale, Chairman of the Federation of British Historic Vehicle Clubs (FBHVC).
