In addition to being open every day for the first time since March, the British Motor Museum events season will be heavily populated in early September.

In line with the extra safety measures put in place for inside the venue, events will be more informal than usual, with reduced numbers present. Nevertheless, there should still be plenty to keep the pre-booked attendees entertained.

A fortnight after The Old Ford Rally, which will take place on August 23, the museum will kick off the September with a newly announced ‘Jaguars at Gaydon’ event. Taking place on September 5, it’s billed as a friendly gathering for all Jaguar fans and will also celebrate the XJS Club’s national day.

The following day will see the National Metro and Mini Show join forces with the BMC and Leyland Show, with the event also featuring a display of associated BL/BMC competition cars and a multi-marque collection from The Historic Marathon Rally Group. Sadly, Mogfest, due to take place on September 26, has been postponed to July 10, 2021. The same goes for the Retro Truck Show, which will now take place next September.

Show Manager Tom Caren said: “Whilst we’ve had to make further changes to our shows we are delighted that we are now able to bring motoring enthusiasts together at our newly formatted informal gatherings. It has been encouraging that we have had so much support and we would urge any club looking to organise an outside gathering to get in touch about using us as an approved venue.”

The museum will continue to monitor government advice and keep visitors informed of any changes. All visitors and exhibitors to any of the gathering/event must pre-book tickets and provide contact details so the museum can fulfil its NHS Test and Trace commitment.

Tickets bought for any of the shows original dates are valid for the new dates and refunds are available for those no longer able to attend. See www.britishmotormuseum.co.uk for all British Motor Museum events.
