Low-mileage Triumph emerges from three decades in storage

Some fascinating last-minute additions have been added to the Brightwells sale later this week including a 1976 Corvette C3, a 1935 MG NB-NE recreation, a 1990 Toyota Supra and a rare Holland & Holland special edition Range Rover P38a.

For Triumph fans though, the big news is the 1979 Dolomite 1500HL which shows just 14,837 miles, having been put into storage back in 1991 following a bereavement and only emerging last year.

Unusually for one of these ‘survivor’ cars, it’s a manual and having had a good poke around it, we loved its honest patina – it’s clearly been used but remains in utterly original condition right down to the underbonnet warning stickers. About the only fault we could find was some paint fading on the offside but other than that it wouldn’t take a great deal of effort to bring it up to show standard. Or of course, you could simply jump in it and enjoy it as an everyday practical classic.

Bidding ends on Wednesday, June 19 from 12.50pm. More details at https://www.brightwells.com/timed-sale/5530
