The next WB & Sons sale is set to be another varied, eclectic and exciting one from the Newcastle auction house

Over 140 lots were entered in WB’s next sale at the time of writing, with more expected. The sale features the strongest BMW contingent we’ve seen for some time, with headliners including a 1999 E36 328i Sport Coupe in Atlantis Blue Metallic with special-order Individual leather interior and matching blue piping.

It also boasts an M-Sport bodykit, sports suspension, sport seats and rare Style 29 split-rim alloys, combining with its excellent condition to earn a £10,000-£12,000 estimate. A 1989 E30 316i that’s been converted to an E46 330i powerplant with extensive suspension, brake and driveline upgrades offers classic looks with modern performance, all for an estimated £10,000-£14,000, while a 1992 E30 316i Cabriolet could be a very fruitful project with its low £1000-£1500 guide. A 2005 example of the legendary E60 M5 has extensive service history for its V10 engine and could sell for as little as £10,000-£11,000, while a 1973 2002 Tii in Inka Orange will surely turn plenty of heads and is estimated at £7000-£9000.

British cars are also well-represented, including a charming 1964 Wolseley 1500 that presents beautifully throughout and justifies a £7500-£8500 guide. A very early ‘smooth-roof’ 1961 Morris Mini Van looks resplendent in Whitehall Beige after a restoration and wears a modest £7000-£9000 estimate, while an equally well-restored 1962 Land Rover Series 2 is expected to fetch £10,000-£14,000. Landy fans might also fancy a 1990 Range Rover Vogue 3.9 in Plymouth Blue, which was thoroughly overhauled in 2019 and earns a £12,000-£16,000 guide.

Meanwhile, just £3000-£4000 might be enough to bag a very smart 1974 MGB GT on Minilite-style wheels, or if you prefer your MGB without a roof, a 1976 rubber-bumper roadster could be yours for just £5000-£6000. In addition, a very smart looking 1965 Triumph Vitesse offers a classy alternative and tantalisingly carries no reserve.

If you fancy a powerful convertible now spring has sprung, there are plenty of options. A 62,000-mile Mercedes R129 500SL dating from 1993 offers the mighty V8 engine, split-rim alloys and a factory hardtop, all for an estimated £8000-£10,000., while a  stablemate in the form of a 1994 A124 E320 Cabriolet is a rare Sportline model and could sell for £7000-£9000. A 1979 VW Beetle Karmann Cabriolet looks smart inside and out and is estimated at £8000-£10,000, while a 2007 MINI Cooper S Convertible will be a bargain if its £1500-£2500 guide is realised.
