Hobbs Parker will tug at the nostalgia strings with a host of intriguing rarities when it holds its online classic car and motorcycle sale on July 20-21 

With no fewer than 111 lots, Hobbs Parker’s timed online summer sale has something for everyone, with commercials, modern classics, traditional offerings and many lesser-spotted rarities set to be auctioned on July 20-21.

Among the rare survivors that caught our eye were a very original 1983 Opel Monza estimated at £6000-£8000, a Renault 10 that’s expected to fetch £7000-£8000, a 1991 Suzuki Swift GTI guided at £5500-£6500, plus a real unicorn in the shape of a first-generation Seat Ibiza.

Among the traditional classics we fancy a Series 2 XJ6, an unusually tidy Triumph Dolomite 1850, a smart-looking Triumph Spitfire 1500, and a solid-looking Morris Minor estimated at just £2500-£2800. There’s also a recently repainted Stag that could offer good value thanks to its guide of £12,000-£15,000. And then there’s the unlikely sounding combination of a Daimler V8 with a straight-six BMW engine, which may well drive very nicely.

  • A one-owner survivor, this 1990 Honda Civic 1400 shows just 16,973 miles and is estimated at £2500-£3000.
  • Rarest of all the XJs is the Series 2, and this 4.2-litre example from 1978 looks unusually straight for an estimated £5500-£6500.
  • Boasting the supercharged engine and John Cooper Works upgrade, this 2003 Cooper S shows just 46,000 miles and is estimated at £6000-£7000.
  • Extensively restored, this 1970 NSU Prinz shows just 50,776 miles and makes a great alternative to a Hillman Imp.
  • Estimated at £7000-£8000, this rare Renault 10 dates from 1966 and shows an incredibly low 1759 miles. Where will you find another like this?
  • When was the last time you saw the original Seat Ibiza, complete with ‘System Porsche’ badging? In 1.2 CLXi spec, this 26,000-mile 1992 example is estimated at £4000-£4500.
  • Fresh from £3000 worth of restoration work, this 16-valve Suzuki Swift GTI is a real rarity and shows 89,000 miles. JDM fans need to budget on £5500-£6500.
  • This 1961 Thames 300E van shows 39,000 miles and boasts a nut-and-bolt restoration by a Ford main dealer.
