The picturesque setting of Windsorview Lakes will form the backdrop as Historics’ Summer Serenade sale takes place on July 19
Over 180 vehicles are set to auctioned by Historics at Windsorview Lakes in Berkshire later this month, ranging from humble no-reserve saloons through to six-figure exotica.
Several Aston Martins are set to be offered, including a 1972 DBS and two examples of the wedge-shaped Lagonda saloon, but the headliner is likely to be a 1959 Aston Martin DB4 Series 1 built to GT specification. It’s said to be in near-concours condition and is estimated at a hefty £520,000-£570,000.
Also commanding a sizeable estimate is a 1965 Jaguar E-Type Series I Coupe delivered new to HRH Prince Michael of Kent, which is one of seven E-Types in the sale and could make as much as £150,000. However, a gold Series 1 roadster that’s just undergone a ground-up restoration might not be far behind if its £125,000-£145,000 estimate comes to fruition. Remarkably though, both could be outdone by a Mk2 Ford Escort, with a stunning RS1800 that’s covered just 24,186 miles and was once a Ford press car guided at £160,000-£185,000.
It’s not all about big prices, however. A rare 1981 Alfa Romeo Giulietta 1.6 that’s had just one owner from new is being offered without reserve, while a 1983 Triumph Acclaim showing 16,000 miles is surely one of the best examples remaining, and carries a guide of £8000-£10,000. Elsewhere, a 1990 Peugeot 205 Roland Garros Cabriolet is another entry to be offered without reserve, and for those with deeper pockets, a 1974 504 GL Cabriolet offers plenty of style for an estimated £20,000-£26,000.
Other notable lots include a time-warp Toyota MR2 from 1989, which has covered less than 25,000 miles and is guided at £13,000-£18,000, plus an extremely rare French sports car in the shape of a 1992 Venturi MVS 260 Coupe, estimated at £16,000-£20,000. You’ll also find at least six Austin-Healeys to add a more traditional slant – three of them 100/6 models – while a lovely 1250cc MG TF from 1954 is guided at £20,000-£25,000. Two Triumph TR6s and a Stag appear too, each with guide prices that could see them snapped up for under £20,000.
Alongside, American muscle is represented by a 1973 Pontiac Trans Am 455 and a 1967 Chevrolet Camaro RS/SS Convertible, while German machinery includes no fewer than nine Mercedes, 11 Porsches and eight BMWs, the latter featuring an E9 3.0 CS estimated at £54,000-£64,000 and a 1974 2002tii originally built for the US market, which is offered with no reserve.
