The next Charterhouse sale will bring over 50 classic cars and motorcycles to the Haynes Motor Museum on 26 June

MGs are plentiful and varied at Charterhouse’s next sale on 26 June, including T-Types in TC and TF guise – the former a previously restored 1947 example that’s been used regularly and is guided at £14,000-£16,000, the latter a 1954 car with a new tonneau cover, tyres, and chrome wire wheels, earning it an £8500-£9500 estimate.

A 1972 MGB roadster that was restored in 2005 and boasts a stainless-steel exhaust and upgraded brakes could be yours for as little as £7000-£9000, while a more muscular 1968 MGC GT with a lower-body respray last year is expected to sell for £10,000-£12,000. It joins a 1957 Magnette ZB in the lovely hue of Island Green, temptingly offered without reserve.

Unusual commercials are another theme, the first being a British Racing Green 1970 Austin Mini Van that’s ready for signwriting and guided at £6000-£8000. It joins a fellow A-Series-powered Brit in the form of a 1988 Austin Maestro Van – seemingly solid following some years in storage, it’s said to require recommissioning but carries a very low £1000-£1500 estimate. The uber-quirky 1996 Daihatsu Midget II caught our eye too, with its single-seat layout and matching trailer earning a £3000-£4000 estimate. It joins its 2006 Daihatsu Copen stablemate – the lovable little hardtop convertible is expected to fetch £3000-£3500.

Luxury is available in abundance, with a highlight being the 1966 Jaguar Mk2 3.4, boasting Harvey Bailey uprated suspension alongside upgraded brakes and a power steering conversion – the whole package is wrapped in a very tidy body that was resprayed previously and equates to a very reasonable £10,000-£12,000 estimate.

An imposing 1997 Mercedes CL420 could sell for just £3400-£3600, but a pair of Rolls-Royces compete to be the standout. The first is a 1959 Silver Cloud II, offered from long-term family ownership with a £12,000-£15,000 estimate; the second, a 1974 Silver Shadow that benefitted from £10,900-worth of specialist expenditure in 2021, is offered from a deceased estate with a temptingly low £7000-£8000 guide price.
