This XJS HE is an early example being built in January 1982, following the renaming of the XJS to the XJS HE in July 1981. The HE with its Fire Ball combustion chamber gave improved power of 295HP as well as better torque. Our car was specified with the desirable US twin headlights and TWR rear spoiler. Whilst the V5 declares 6 owners, this car has been owned by one person from 1986 to 2021 (35 years). The last two recorded keepers did not drive the car. The car had been sorned from 2012 until 2020 due to the owner’s poor health. In late 2020 Jaguar Classics undertook the recommissioning of the car which included new fuel tank, brake lines, calipers and Pirelli Cinturato tyres at a cost of over £10,000 This XJS FHC’s body and underside is in pristine original condition and mechanically the car is a revelation. There is no corrosion on the car and from what we have measured, the paintwork appears to be original. The car has just over 14,000 miles on the clock having covered 7000 miles in the long-term ownership of the previous keeper. There is a comprehensive MOT history from 1986 and the mileage ties in with the bill of sale in 1986. The car has had a recent oil change and service which included removal and re-coring of the radiator, together with new thermostats. The headlining, which is original, has been carefully re bonded to its substrate by GB Trim of Coventry.
