1925 Amilcar CS Two Seater in superb condition. Known as “Sweet Pea” This delightful Vintage sports car was supplied new to the UK Amilcar concessionaires, Boon and Porter and, apart from a stay in the Netherlands from 1994 to 2007, has remained in the UK for its entire life. We have a photograph taken by Bowers of the car outside the premises of Boon and Porter in 1926. Attractively finished in scarlet with black wings, the Amilcar is every bit the archetypical small French sports car of the 1920s. The body and paint are in very good order as is the black leather interior and matching black carpets. The carries its original body frame by Duval of Paris which has at some point been re-skinned. Weather equipment comprises a hood and tonneau cover in black double duck both of which are in good condition. The nickel plating including the beautiful radiator shell is very good. New Blockley tyres are fitted all round. The 1004cc side valve four cylinder engine emits a healthy bark and feels very lively in such a light car. It happily bowls along at 50mph. The engine and gearbox are in unit with the engine being splash lubricated. Suspension is by quarter elliptics all round with brakes on the rear wheels only. The clutch and three speed gearbox work well. Subtle direction indicators are fitted. There is a lot of history with this car including a complete ownership trail from new and copies of all the original log books. There is a file of technical information, logs of work carried out and receipts. There are also two boxes full of issues Amilcar Salmson Register magazines and Le Pergese, the journal of the French Amilcar Club. There is a trunk accompanying the car containing spare parts. This is a very good example of a much sought after motor car, having received much recent fettling and is eligible for all manner of prestigious events.
