1949 Standard 12cwt Van
Description
Fully restored Standard 12cwt Van. Probably the best in the world. Restored (body off) at ridiculous expense between 2012 and late 2016 with few miles since.
Supplied by Carrs Auto Sales of Croydon in June 1949 (Carr's dealer plate on passenger A pillar) with Croydon registration HBY 815 and registered to a "Radio Rentals" type Company.
The Van has been liveried as a Carrs Auto Sales service vehicle, based on a post card acquired at an autojumble, showing the Carrs service fleet on Croydon airport in early 1950. The post card shows 2 two tone Standard Vans with a shield on the front door and sign-writing on the panelling. Carrs Auto Sales invoices acquired from a Carrs employee gave the style of the sign-writing (not vinyl) that has been used. The Van is on its original registration and will come with its original buff logbook.
