PREVIEW: NEWARK MOTOR AUCTIONS, OCT 6
Fans of Eastern Bloc motoring have a rare opportunity at the October 6 Newark sale, with the lots including a 1990 Lada Riva showing just 28,560 miles and a Skoda Favorit – the last Skoda to be developed before the VW takeover.
At the other end of the scale, a 1969 Jaguar E-Type 2+2 with just 73,000 miles is bound to make some serious money, as is the 67,000-mile Porsche 964 Carrera 2 convertible.
Other notable survivors include a 1982 Talbot Avenger LS with just 20,000 miles and one lady owner behind it, plus a Mk2 VW Polo ‘Formel E’, a 70,000-mile Mercedes 190E and a 1951 Ford V8 Pilot. Ford fans may also be attracted by the Model T… complete with Fiat twin-cam, twin Webers and a five-speed box.
And if that’s not unusual enough then how about a ‘Weetabix’ bus? With a Triumph Herald engine, it was built in 1983 and originally spent time at Wicksteed Park.
