SWVA’s summer classic auction looks set to be a bumper affair for the Dorset auction house, with over 100 cars set to go under the hammer on July 31

There are plenty of intriguing lots in the catalogue for SWVA’s next sale, especially for fans of former street furniture from the 1980s and ’90s. For those on a budget, a 1996 Saab 9000 CS Turbo is estimated at £1000–£1500, while a contemporary Swede in the shape of a Volvo 850 CD Estate is guided at a mere £500–£1000. A series of late ’90s luxury saloons also feature, with an E38-generation BMW 728i, a 1998 Toyota Camry V6 and a X308-generation Jaguar XJ Sovereign LWB all set to be offered without reserve. There’s a Daimler 4.0 Limousine by Eagle too, with the 2003 eight-seater guided at £1500–£2500.

If you fancy a period roadster, a tidy MGF could be yours for as little as £800, and there are a couple of smart BMW Z3s in the mix too. A 1999 SLK230 is just one of several Mercedes, meanwhile, with other highlights including a C124 300SE with no reserve, a couple of 190Es, a V8-powered 1980 350SL guided at £7500–£8500 and an R129 SL320 Designo Edition that could make £20,000.

Away from the prestige brands, there are all sorts of traditional classics on offer. At least five classic Minis are included, and you’ll also find a 1959 Austin A40 Farina estimated at a bargain £1500–£2200, a 1963 Sinder Vogue guided at £1500–£2500, a couple of Morris Minor 1000s, a 1961 Austin-Healey ‘Frogeye’ Sprite estimated at £5000–£6000, and a 1966 Sunbeam Alpine predicted to fetch £6000–£7000. These are joined by a smart 1969 MGB roadster and a tidy 1972 MGB GT in Blaze, while among the Triumphs, £5500–£6500 could buy a 1973 Stag in yellow. Alongside, a lovely 1965 2000 saloon looks a potential snip at an estimated £3500–£4500, and £7000–£8000 could buy a 1979 Dolomite Sprint in Russet Brown.

Sticking with established classics, a 1966 Ford Anglia 105E Deluxe is guided at an attractive £3500–£4500, and there are a couple of ‘Auntie’ Rover P4s – one a 1964 110 with a well-executed V8 conversion that’s expected to go for just £3000–£4000. Further luxury is offered by a 1966 Jaguar Mk2 2.4 guided at £6000–£8000, a late Series 1 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow dating from 1974 that’s predicted to sell for £7000–£8000, and a 1989 Silver Spirit II estimated at £8000–£10,000.

With 1980s icons including a late Metro and a Nova SR, plus several pre-war entries and even curiosities such as a 1962 Steyr Puch Haflinger, this is set to be a varied sale. See swva.co.uk for the full catalogue.
