BL’s Metro was a popular export model throughout the ’Eighties, particularly in sporty MG guise – a version that gained itself many friends throughout Europe and beyond.
So it’s not surprising that export-market brochures can still be found for sale online and at autojumbles, such as this Dutch publication from 1985.
We’ll admit that we’re not experts when it comes to the Dutch language, but a quick look online revealed that the “MG Metro 1300 fascinerend” headline referred to the fact that the Metro was fascinating.
And the subsequent few sentences appeared to back this up, suggesting (according to our trusty translator) that you had to see the MG in its entirety to appreciate just how fascinating it was – and that it showed its style and ambition with pride.
