The next ACA sale looks set to offer a huge variety of classics. Here’s what to expect from the auction house later this month

Fords are in plentiful supply at ACA’s next sale, with everything from a very tidy-looking 1997 Mondeo ST24 with just 72,000 miles temptingly offered with no reserve, to a charmingly honest and original 1966 Corsair estimated at £4000–6000. A 1970 Cortina 1600 Super looks a lovely example of the Mk2’s runout edition and boasts a stainless steel exhaust and refurbished Rostyle wheels – it could be yours for an estimated £8000–10,000. Another blue Ford on offer is a South African import Mk3 Cortina – sporting the commonly-seen 2.5 Essex V6 and smart bodywork, the interior needs some tidying but once again, it carries no reserve.

Fanciers of Fords going faster than standard might be taken by the 1972 Mk1 Escort, which sports bubble arches, a 2.0-litre Pinto engine with Type 9 five-speed gearbox and a Capri back axle, alongside aftermarket suspension, upgraded brakes and numerous other modifications – the £12,500–14,500 estimate, therefore, seems very reasonable. Another fast Escort in the sale is a 1982 Mk3 RS1600i, which boasts a recently-rebuilt engine and earns itself a £14,000–18,000 guide.

There are some luxurious offerings too, including a 1992 Daimler Double Six Series 3 – imported from Japan in 2022, it wears an unusual TW-Spec bodykit and alloy wheels and is estimated at £8000–10,000. Those fancying a more modern Jaguar might fancy the 2002 XKR 4.2 coupe, which shows just 52,000 miles and looks stunning on BBS split-rim wheels, all for an estimated £9000–12,000. A pair of P38 Range Rovers (including a sought-after Holland & Holland Edition) offer high-rise luxury, with the gold 1999 4.6-litre car offered with no reserve.

There are sports cars to suit all tastes and budgets, a particular highlight being the baby blue 1988 Bertone X1/9, which deserves its £5000–7000 guide price. Altogether more exciting is the 2009 RV Dynamics Cobra Evocation, a Shelby copy that sports a BMW 3.5-litre straight-six and is estimated at £18,000–22,000. Prefer your sports cars more traditional? The 1978 MGB GT looks extremely smart with gold Rostyle wheels and could be great value at an estimated £3500–4500, while the extremely smart 1960 Sunbeam Alpine Series II looks charming in blue-over-red and is guided at £10,000–12,000. If that’s too rich for you, a 2001 Alfa Romeo Spdier 3.0 V6 offers exotic styling and an epic Busso soundtrack, all with no reserve.

  • We’re no strangers to South African Mk3 Cortinas, and this 1976 car sports a 2.5-litre Essex V6, as is typical for SA-spec Mk3s. Imported in 2023 and freshly serviced and tuned, it requires some interior tidying, but is temptingly offered with no reserve
  • This 1992 Daimler Double Six is certainly something different – sporting a TWR bodykit and wheels, it spent its first 30 years in Japan and shows just 64,000 miles on the clock. Although history is limited owing to its past, it looks good value at an estimated £8000–10,000
  • Supposedly one of just five left, this 1983 Datsun Stanza 1.6GL looked remarkably tidy, likely down to its 47,000 miles. Sporting a fresh cambelt and battery alongside decades of history, it could be the perfect daily-driver classic at an estimated £2500–3500
  • This 1972 Jensen Interceptor could prove a bargain – showing 49,000 miles, benefitting from a mechanical freshen up and looking resplendent in metallic green despite five years in storage, it’s estimated at an enticingly low £8000–10,000
  • Unquestionably the most head-turning car in the sale is this 1980 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am. Sporting the T-top roof and 6.6-litre V8 engine, it benefitted from £15,000 of expenditure that included bespoke wheels, uprated radiator and adjustable shocks. Striking in orange, it’s guided at £25,000–30,000
  • One of just 400 Holland & Holland Editions, this 2000 Range Rover P38 4.6 has a fresh MoT and looks in tidy condition, the sight of four Pirelli tyres acting as further reassurance. It carries a £4500–5500 estimate
  • A rare sight compared to its Lotus Elise twin-sister, this 2004 Vauxhall VX220 is the sought-after Turbo model and has just 19,600 miles on the clock, seemingly in immaculate condition accordingly. It could be a bargain next to an Elise too, with its £15,000–18,000 guide price
  • Looking stunning on Teledial wheels and sporting a Zender spoiler, this 2000 Alfa Romeo GTV 3.0 V6 caught our eye. With 98,000 miles on the clock and history back to 2003, it earns a £2750–3750 guide
