A classic sale followed directly by an online offering packed with modern classics is set to kick off at Brightwells later this month

As has become customary with Brightwells, the July 31 classic car sale is followed the day after by the Online Garage sale hosting the more modern classics, restoration projects and a selection of Japanese icons.

Clearly the low-mileage Dolomite in the previous sale sparked some more survivor Triumphs to come out of hiding, this catalogue including a 17,000-mile 1850 and a 1948 Roadster restoration project. Of course, where there are Triumphs there’s generally an MG nearby, and in this case highlights are a pair of very useable-looking MGB roadsters on wire wheels both at reasonable estimates and an unusually well-presented TD with a modern five-speed gearbox upgrade. Meanwhile, MGB power is also found in the Teal Bugatti replica and the 1989 Hutson TF replica.

A similarly affordable prospect is offered by the ’67 Morris Minor at an estimated £2000-£3000, while further up the scale we have a brace of Morgans comprising Plus 4s from 1951 and 1996. Topping out the price scale we find a pair of nicely presented Healey 3000s, a 1985 Bristol Britannia and a 1954 Jaguar XK120.

Entries were still arriving for the Online Garage as we went to press but highlights include a real survivor in the shape of a 1990 Nissan Sunny and a 1973 Volvo 340GL, both at no reserve, while a 1993 Range Rover Classic is also an intriguing no-reserve prospect. More exciting fare includes a V8-engined Rover 75 – unusually, not the MG version – and a 996-generation Porsche 911 Carrera 4 alongside an R129 Mercedes SL320 and a rare VW Passat W8.

Of the modern Japanese icons, a 1990 Toyota Supra Turbo and a 2007 Honda Civic Type R both caught our eye, as did a 2005 Nissan 350Z convertible on striking Rays rims.

Bidding opens for the classic cars and motorcycles sale from Saturday July 27 at 10.00 and ends on Wednesday, July 31 from 12.01. The Online Garage bidding opens at 10.00 on Wednesday, July 31 and ends from 12.01 on Thursday, August 1.
