The 22–23 June sale from Anglia Car Auctions sale proves the Norfolk-based auction house always delivers something for everyone

There are numerous examples of high-end exotics on offer in ACA’S next sale, headlined by the 1964 Aston Martin DB5, which includes Heritage Certificate to proving its matching-numbers provenance and impressive original specification. Reassuringly sporting an MoT until August, its £450,000–550,000 guide price is likely to be exceeded.

If you prefer its Jaguar E-Type rival, the gorgeous 1962 3.8 FHC could be for you, with smart chromework and a very reasonable £34,000–38,000 estimate. Few cars in the sale are as glamorous as the 1969 Mercedes W109 280SE Cabriolet, whose style and rarity makes the £55,000–75,000 guide price almost seem cheap, while the 1986 Ford Sierra Cosworth presents extremely well following a cosmetic and mechanical recommissioning, and is likely to fly past its £28,000–34,000 estimate if other auction results are anything to go by.

Fast Ford thrills are available for far less with the no-reserve 2003 Focus ST170, but it’s not the only car in the sale for those on a modest budget; the 1993 Vauxhall Calibra 2.0 looks smart on non-standard alloys and sports a tidy black leather interior, earning it a £2000–2500 estimate, while those fancying a more traditional classic should appreciate the charming 1956 Morris Minor, whose excellent condition suggests previous restoration and can be snapped up for an estimate £4500–5500.

There are MGBs on offer to suit all tastes and budgets, one highlight being a Citron Yellow 1974 GT that has had thousands spent on it in its 45-year family ownership, recently including new brakes, oil cooler, overdrive, Spax shock absorbers, front seats, tyres and electronic ignition – appearing tidy and ready to enjoy, a £2750–3750 estimate looks like a bargain. A 1975 Rubber Bumper GT, meanwhile, still presents well following a 2018 restoration and includes recent service, tyres and brakes – it looks set to fetch an estimated £2500–3500.

The sale is packed with enticing lots for modest budgets, including a 2001 Piaggio Ape that’s sure to turn heads at car shows for an estimated £4000–6000, 1993 Mercedes 190E 2.0 Auto that’s ready for daily use and carries a £3000–5000 guide, while a 2003 Mazda MX-5 Mk2 1.8 could be the perfect slice of summer fun, complete with hardtop and a tempting lack of reserve. Other highlights include a no-reserve Peugeot 504 Pickup, Bedford CA milk float and deliciously orange 1971 Hillman Imp Super.

  • Of all the rare and exciting BMWs in the sale, this was our favourite: a 1986 E28 M535i, the motorsport-tuned variant of the second-generation 5 Series. Extensively restored in 2022 and presenting beautifully accordingly, the mechanicals have received ample attention to make this retro M-car ready to enjoy, all for an estimated £15,000–18,000
  • This 1977 Datsun 260Z looks extremely fetching in dark turquoise with Slotmag wheels, and boasts sympathetic but useful upgrades including four-pot brake callipers and triple carburettors. An increasingly rare UK-spec car, it earns a £16,000–20,000 estimate
  • Extremely smart with its blue Mexico side-stripes, this 1978 Ford Escort Mk2 Estate appears to be in excellent condition inside and out. With period-correct RS four-spoke alloys, suitably sizeable spotlights and a 1600GT engine under the bonnet, its £8000–12,000 estimate is well-deserved
  • Of all the Jaguars on offer, this 1988 XJ40 piqued our interest most. Offered in 3.6 Sovereign guise, the grey leather interior presents as well as the exterior, the rear seats potentially never having been used. With 85,000 miles on the clock and an advisory-free MoT in January, the £3000–5000 guide price looks mighty tempting
  • This 1997 Rover 100 Ascot might be for you – with a verified 12,143 miles and extensive history to its name, the £2250–3250 guide price looks like a great deal for such a pristine example of this starter classic
  • This 1964 Volvo Amazon is the twin-carb 122S model and boasts a Ruddspeed-tuned engine. Looking smart on Minilite-style wheels, it’s temptingly offered with no reserve
