The final CCA sale of the year takes place this Saturday, December 9 at the Warwickshire Event Centre. Here are some star lots to watch

Some 137 classic cars lots form the catalogue for The Christmas Sale at the time of writing, with the huge selection of vehicles including the eclectic Stoneacre Collection, which comprises 20 barn-find cars from marques such as Porsche, Mercedes-Benz, Ford and more – each offered without reserve.

In addition comes a raft of bread and butter classics, including some incredible low mileage and wonderfully restored cars. Several caught our eye, not least being a bunch of hot Ford Escorts that include a 1974 Mk1 Mexico with a guide of £25,000–30,000, a 1985 RS Turbo Series 1 guided at £25,000-£30,000, a 1987 RS Turbo Series 2 estimated to make £16,000-£20,000, and a second-generation XR3i showing just 2859 miles from new, which is guided at £25,000–30,000.

Elsewhere British classics continue to be very well represented. A 4548-mile Morris Ital seems to deserve its ‘time warp’ label and is guided at £8000–10,000, though it is offered without reserve. On top comes a handful of nice Minis and MGs, joined by more than one Aston Martin DB7, a bunch of Land Rovers and a 48,000-mile 1993 Bentley Turbo R guided at £16,000–20,000.

A rare and beautiful 1954 Swallow Doretti caught our eye too. Combining practical TR2 mechanics with Italian elegance, the Staffordshire-built creation is one of only 276 produced and is anticipated to make £35,000–38,000. Equally eye-catching is a UK-supplied 1971 Lotus Europa ‘Big-Valve’, the Roman Purple machine having benefited from an amazing £30,000-plus restoration over 12 years, making its £22,000–26,000 guide price seem rather reasonable.

Those looking to spend under £10,000 will admittedly have their work cut out here, but a handful of options for bargain hunters seem worthy of note. Fans of modern classics might like a 2000 Peugeot 306 Cabriolet S showing just 13,551 miles from new and offered without reverse, which wears a lower guide of £5000. Those in the market for something older, meanwhile, might prefer a 1963 Vauxhall Victor FB Series predicted to make £6000–7000 or a 1973 MG BGT for an estimated £4000–6000, with a 1992 Mercedes-Benz 300SL guided at £4000-£6000 surely worth a look too.   • This Ital 1.3 HL, finished in super bright Vermillion paint, has covered just 4548 miles from new. The time-warp Morris carries a guide price of £8000-£10,000 but is offered at no reserve, which will surely entice bidders.
  • An unwanted prize, this 1997 Ford Probe has covered under 1000 miles from new. Fewer than 150 24v Probes are currently on the road, and this this one is surely the very best around. Bids of £10,000-£12,000 are expected to secure it.
  • Yet another low-mileage machine, this beautiful example of Jaguar's X300 XJ6, originally from the Channel Islands, has obviously been cosseted for each and every one of its 17,711 miles. The 1996 3.2 Executive could be yours for its lower estimate of £10,000.
  • One of just two examples produced in such a colour scheme, this 1992 Jaguar XJR-S 6.0-litre V12 comes compete with a detailed history file and its original service book. It is offered at no resere but guided at £8000-£10,000.
  • One of several Ford Escorts in this sale, this superbly presented second-generation XR3i has covered a barely believable 2859 miles from new. It is guided at £25,000-£30,000, but could well make even more.
  • A smart UK-supplied example of Honda's third-generation S-Type 'rev-for-ever' coupe, this tin-topped 1967 S800 was subject of a restoration back in the 1980/1990s, and it was freshly painted again this year. It’s estimated at £18,000-£22,000.
  • This Audi 80 Cabriolet has benefitted from a very recent investment of more than £15,000, making it undoubtedly one of the very best available. With a guide price of £9000-£11,000, this modern classic could end up as something of a bargain.
  • An original, UK-supplied, right-hand drive 735i SE B10 3.5, this special E23 was created by Alpina's authorised UK dealer, Frank Sytner, in conjunction with the factory. One of the original 37 cars, it has been extensively featured in magazines and wears a top estimate of £25,000.
