Vauxhall Heritage has ambitious plans for this year’s Lancaster Insurance Classic Motor Show, held between Friday, November 10 and Sunday, November 12.
Building on the success of 2016’s stand, which showcased its fully restored Viva HB GT, 2017’s ‘Luton Goes Large’ exhibition will feature 60 years of top-notch touring and saloon car Griffins. That title is literal, by the way: ‘Luton Goes Large’ will be the biggest stand Vauxhall Heritage has ever organised at Birmingham’s NEC in the six consecutive years it has exhibited there.
Highlights from the 12 car stand will be the pre-war Big Six BXL limousine – making its first ever appearance at the show – along with a trio of Crestas, representing the ’50s, ’60s and ’70s and a Royale coupe, along with the iconic Griffin badged 30-98.
There will also be five ex-press cars, ranging from ‘001’ – a VXR220 which was the very first car to wear the ‘VXR’ badge, to K948 XGS – the last Lotus Carlton to appear on Vauxhall’s press fleet in 1992. Vauxhall Heritage’s display will be at the centre of a larger Vauxhall show space; joining it will be the Autobahn Stormers Car Club, Cavalier & Chevette Club, Chevette Owners Group, Droop Snoot Club, Opel Manta Owners’ Club, the VX4/90 Drivers’ Club, Vauxhall Cresta Club, Vauxhall FD Register, and the Viva Drivers’ Club.
