The search for hidden and forgotten treasure is on ahead of next year’s Practical Classics Classic Car & Restoration Show, which will be held at Birmingham’s NEC from March 27-29. The event organisers are hunting for suitable exhibits to star on the Carole Nash Barn Find display, and they need your help to find them.
As the UK’s biggest display of barn find vehicles, the feature has become one of the event’s headline attractions. It will include 20 vehicles, unearthed from garages, sheds, from the bottom of people’s gardens or similar, perhaps hidden by years of weeds. Some will have been rescued with the plan to restore them back to their former glory, while others will be left to ‘rust in peace’.
Should you have a suitable classic lurking in the back of a barn, tucked away in a garage or under a tarpaulin at the bottom of the garden that you fancy getting out for the 2020 show, send two pictures of your vehicle with a brief description including year, make and model and any interesting facts to andrea@poppyseedmedia.co.uk.
Visitors will also vote for their favourite – Steve Cato’s 1973 BMW E9 CSL won the audience’s hearts and votes to be crowned Barn Find of the Show in 2019. There was stiff competition amongst the display of 20 rusting relics, which also included a 1958 Bedford CA Tipper, a 1938 Jowett 10 Saloon and a 1962 Renault 8.
