The MG Car Club is to crown its 90th anniversary year with a return to Silverstone for its flagship MGLive! 2020 event next summer, with June 13-14 announced as the provisional dates.
The Northamptonshire circuit had hosted an annual MG Car Club event every year since 1951 prior to last year’s hiatus due to essential track resurfacing. Therefore, it is only fitting that the club should return during its milestone year.
As well as the club celebrations, there will be additional features to mark the 25th birthday of the MGF. The club’s California Cup autotest will make a return too, joining a packed weekend of racing action on track. Away from the circuit, visitors can enjoy live music, a trade area, an entertainment arena and interviews with key figures from both MG and the club’s history, including some very special guests. MG Motor UK will also display the latest generation of octagon-badged cars.
Adam Sloman, General Manager of the MG Car Club, said: “We understand that there will be some concerns from our loyal members following the difficulties with track surfacing that lead to the cancellation of our 2019 event.
“We’d like to assure everyone that we found ourselves in an unprecedented situation that is now resolved. The management at Silverstone have been incredibly helpful and have bent over backwards to ensure we have the certainty we need to deliver a truly memorable MGLive! 2020 event next year. The break has given us a chance to regroup and work on some exciting new features for the 2020 event that MG fans won’t want to miss!”
Ticket information will be going live soon via www.mgcc.co.uk. The club will also be announcing new features to expect at the show via its website and social media accounts in the coming weeks, so watch out for updates.
