Two popular show will be rolled into one as the Classic and Vintage Commercial Show and Classic Van and Pick Up Show are incorporated into one all-encompassing show at the British Motor Museum.
Due to new additional display capacity at the Gaydon venue, both shows will now take place on June 8-9, with visitors to reminisce about days gone by surrounded by over 500 classic and vintage lorries, trucks, buses and vans.
In its 12th year, the Classic and Vintage Commercial Show is one of the largest shows of its kind in Europe and features a diverse selection of pre-1999 commercial vehicles. The former ‘Classic Van and Pick Up Show, meanwhile, will celebrate its sixth year as part of this new all-inclusive event, and will still feature an impressive range of light commercial vehicles.
Highlights on Saturday include driving challenges open to all drivers of all commercials from light vans and pick-ups right up to large tractor units and multi-wheel rigids, with points scored for manoeuvring around vintage oil cans and markers. On the Sunday, displays will include everything from Morris Minors and Ford Transit through to AEC, ERF, Foden and Leyland heavyweights, with a whole host in-between.
Over the weekend there will be a commercial vehicle-related autojumble selling vehicle spares, photos, brochures, models and other items associated with historic commercial vehicles, while inside the museum will be a model show featuring over 160 tables. Kelsey Media will be supporting the show and selling several of its publications including Classic and Vintage Commercials, Classic Van and Pick Up, and Vintage Roadscene.
Tom Caren, Show Manager at the British Motor Museum, stated: “By combining these two great popular shows, visitors and enthusiasts can see an even greater range of classic commercial vehicles on display. We are expecting well over 500 vehicles from familiar marques to rare finds to take part in the two day show and take everyone on a fascinating nostalgia trip.”
