FAQs

We’ve pulled together some useful FAQs for you below.

FIRST UP, ABOUT THE VENUE CHANGE…

Yes, we know it’s a dramatic departure from a drag strip or a race track, but we thought for 2022 we’d try something different. For track action, there is still Ford Fair at Silverstone that takes place on Sunday 14th August.

For Classic Ford Show, The South of England Showground has a lot going for it:

  • Great access, being just 20 minutes from Gatwick, 10 mins from the M23 motorway
  • Lots of parking
  • Excellent outside display areas
  • Three superb indoor spaces, in which we hope to curate some of the very best displays of classic Fords
  • The ability to arrive at a time of your convenience throughout Saturday, camp over on site
  • We will be laying on some evening entertainment on the Saturday
  • We’re working on some plans for live action at the event, and will keep you updated

How many cars does a club need to bring?
The minimum amount of cars allowed on a club stand is 5, there is no maximum.
If your club does not have enough cars booked by the club deadline, all cars will automatically be moved to the Special Display area.

I don’t have a classic Ford, but I want to display my car on a club stand?
Only Classic Ford models are allowed to display (pre-2002). The organisers retain the rights to refuse entry or ask you to leave.

How do we as a club get a good location at the event?
Clubs are plotted based on a first come, first served basis. The sooner your club books their tickets, the more likely you are to get a ‘good’ location within the event.
Please do note, we reserve the right to plot clubs as we see fit based on the ground conditions.

Can the club deadline change?
Kelsey Media have the right to close the club deadline prior to the date stated above. The club deadline is in place subject to space and availability.

I didn’t select a vehicle pass upon booking, can I still display my car?
If you did not select a ‘driver and vehicle’ entry ticket and enter your vehicle details onto your order then you will not be eligible to display your vehicle at the event. Once the deadline has passed, no vehicle display passes will be issued and you will have to park in the public car park.

We want to put up a gazebo and banners around our stand, is that okay?
You will need to fill in the Risk Assessment Form and make sure that it is securely erected. Banners advertising your club are fine as long as they are suitable and in your designated club area. We retain the right to charge you for the additional space, depending on the size.

Can we display bikes on our club stand?
Unfortunately we do not allow motorcycles to display at our event. The event is for cars exclusively.

Can we raise money for a charity at the event?
If you are a registered charity or part of a registered charity (you will be asked to supply accreditation) then you can collect from your stand only. Collecting around the site is not permitted.

Can we sell things from our stand?
You are allowed to sell branded club merchandise only e.g. t-shirts, stickers etc. You must not sell anything else that is not related directly to your club.

What time can I leave?
The show closes at 17:00 and you may be asked to return to your stand before that time if it is deemed unsafe for vehicle movement due to the volume of pedestrians.
